Replacing Flame rod in Milnor Dryers

Burner flame rods must be cut to the right length for proper operation

Flame rods sense a current flow across the pilot flame in a burner.  The rod must be engulfed by flame and the flame must also touch the case of the dryer burner.  If the flame rod touches ground then it will not work.  Depending on the dryer, a replacement rod must be cut to length before installation.

Refer to pilot gas needle valve adjustment if you have trouble with a new flame rod. here is an example of the 64" dryer tuning instruction which includes the flame rod and pilot gas flow adjustment.   How do I optimize my dryer performance with an Air Heat burner?

Attached is the instructions for replacing the flame rod, kit # KTNFRWI001
