Washer extractor drive systems with 2 motors and 2 electric clutches use a transformer to bring line voltage to 16 VAC for the electric clutches.  The 16 VAC is wired to a bridge rectifier, 09A020EBR, and then to the clutches through relays in the controls.

When replacing the original 09U002EBR clutch transformer with the replacement 09UB100A16 there will need to be some changes in the wiring. The following steps should be followed:

1. Remove power from the machine, tag and lock it out.
2. Determine the machine control voltage. (Not incoming power)

Instructions for 120V controls

Wiring the Primary Terminals On the new transformer, connect H1 to H3 using the one of the supplied jumpers. Similarly, connect H2 to H4 using the other supplied jumper. Remove the retaining screws to remove the old transformer from the chassis, but DO NOT disconnect any wires at this time. Disconnect the Black\Red and Blue wires from the machine completely. Locate the Blue/Yellow wire and disconnect it from the old transformer and wire it to H1 on the new transformer. Locate the Black wire and disconnect it from the old transformer and wire it to H2 on the new transformer.     Wiring the Secondary Terminals Locate the Red wire and disconnect it from the old transformer and wire it to X3 on the new transformer. Locate the Yellow/Red wire and disconnect it from the old transformer and wire it to X2 on the new transformer. Mount the new transformer in the machine. New holes may be needed.

Instructions for 240V controls

Wiring the Primary Terminals On the new transformer, connect H2 to H3 using the one of the supplied jumpers. Remove the retaining screws to remove the old transformer from the chassis, but DO NOT disconnect any wires at this time. Disconnect the Black\Red and Blue wires from the machine completely. Locate the Blue/Yellow wire and disconnect it from the old transformer and wire it to H1 on the new transformer. Locate the Black wire and disconnect it from the old transformer and wire it to H4 on the new transformer.      Wiring the Secondary Terminals Locate the Red wire and disconnect it from the old transformer and wire it to X3 on the new transformer. Locate the Yellow/Red wire and disconnect it from the old transformer and wire it to X2 on the new transformer. Mount the new transformer in the machine. New holes may be needed.
