Dim Display:
Reports of Miltouch displays becoming dim surfaced in Oct 2018. A new display panel was in use and the resistor for the backlight was improperly sized for the application. The resistor gets hot and the display goes dim.
There are 3 types of displays to date. The latest EverVision display is the only display with the resistor problem.
Milnor will replace any EverVision display less than 5 years old exhibiting this issue. Most failures will be in infancy.
You can see the difference in the display type by the wires leading to and from the board.
New inventory received in October and November of 2018 should have a blue dot applied if the board was reworked with the right resistor. If the display has no blue dot then assume that the resistor is improperly sized and may exhibit the issue. After December of 2018 the boards are properly produced. No blue dot will be applied.
Cleaning the display:
The EverVision display has the best moisture resistance of the displays. No display is waterproof. The display should only be cleaned with a moist cloth. No chemicals should be used on the display.
