How the Shuttle Target System is Configured
Milnor shuttle used a target system for positioning. It is a simple system. Targets make to count up or down to the appropriate location to stop. If the shuttle does not stop where it needs to, check the targets.

Sample Shuttle Configuration :

Rules for Homeless Shuttles:

Miltrac Rules:

Shuttle Has An Encoder = 1
Number of Load Stations = 1
Number of Discharge Stations = 3

Counts at Home Station = 10
Counts at Reset Point = 0
Counts At Right OOPS Target = 6
Counts At Left OOPS Target = 16
Stop Offset Counts = 0
Slow Down Distance = 1
Alt Decel Time = 0
Counts At Load Station 0 = 10           (Press)
Counts At Discharge Station 0 = 7     (Dryer 1)
Counts At Discharge Station 1 = 13   (Dryer 2)
Counts At Discharge Station 2 = 15   (Dryer 3)

If the shuttle is homeless and you need to pass through home to another destination, then you MUST put a count target on the rail at home.  Otherwise, when you cross home you will miss a count.  Essentially, the Home target does not count unless you are going home.

In the example above, the shuttle will slow at count 9 or 11 and stop at home.  However if there is no count target at home, the shuttle will not count the home target when going from 9 to 11 so, a count will be missed.  This is why you put a count target at home.  Also make sure the count target is slightly wider than home so it does not see home without seeing a count.

Miltrac rules on moving left or right still apply.  It the device is left of where I am, then the Y coordinate must be higher.  Right moves must be lower.  Effectively you must mimic the Y coordinates with the station numbers and counts in shuttle configure if the shuttle is "homeless".

Shuttle Moves left to the Higher Y coordinate.  "Higher Y to the left".

Shuttle count value increases as it moves to the left.  "Higher count to the left. "

Devices in Miltrac are assinged a Station number.  They report this to the Shuttle through Miltrac.  The shuttle then looks up a count based on the station number.

The station number applies to the whole device.  This means that if the device receives and discharges to 2 shuttles then the station numbers must take into consideration both shuttle rails and station numbers.
