Video - How do I run the CBW® Mentor® controller on a Windows 10 PC?
Windows 10, by default, does not allow 3rd-party programs to write data to the registry. We need to allow the Mentor program access to the registry.
  1. Use Regedit.exe to edit the registry.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Milnor\CBW\Extended
  3. Set the "Mode" value to "Simulator".
  4. Save and exit Regedit.exe.
  5. Open the file directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Milnor\Mentor".
  6. Right click on Mentor.exe and click "Properties".
  7. Click the "Compatibility" tab along the top.
  8. Click the "Change settings for all users" button.
  9. Select Windows 7 compatibility and "Run this program as an Administrator".
  10. Click "OK".
  11. Click "OK".
  12. Run the Mentor software.
Select Compatibility for Windows 7 and Run as Administrator
