Overview
The EXT-SIGNAL connection can be used to an additional signaling device to your machine. This may be a light or buzzer depending on the application. The external signal installed will energize at the same time as the signal buzzer and on-board the machine currently.
Depending on the age of the E-P Express or E-P Plus machine, you may need to purchase a new processor board with the appropriate output terminal.
If the installed board does not have the terminal circled below, a new board will be required.
For the E-P Plus machine you will need processor board part number
08BH188AT or
08BH188BT.
For the E-P Express machine you will need processor board part number
08BH188AXT or
08BH188BXT.
Power Requirements
1 Amp Recommendation
This output has to run through traces on a circuit board. We recommend maximum current draw at 1A, to prevent overheating and damaging the processor board. If the external device draws more than 1A, please use an external relay to carry the higher current while the relay is powered by the provided EXT SIGNAL contacts. Below are the capacities for the relay on the processor board.
