Dryer Rotation - Which direction should it rotate?
Dryers rotation may seem confusing, but this guide will make testing dryer rotation simple.

Overview

Milnor has made two styles of dryers over the years.

Early Dryers (not paired)

Dryers with a burner below the linen are universal and do not require a rotation direction. The air flow from the burner the burner in this dryer splits evenly. This eliminates the need of a set rotation direction.

Current Dryers (paired)

Dryers that are "paired", left and right, need to be confirmed of the rotation direction. The air flow on these dryers have a tendency to cause plastering of the goods in one direction. With the dryers being mirrored, this direction is opposite for the left and right hand dryers.

Testing Rotation and Changing Direction

The fastest way to test the dryer rotation is to check during the loading process. When the dryer loads, it only rotates one direction. See the image below to assess rotation direction. If your dryer, is rotating in the wrong direction, you need to swap the S1 and S2 terminals on the basket drive inverter.
