Bypass Valve - Single Stage Press
The bypass valve has changed over the years. See what changes have been made and verify which parts you need to order.

LODA-8DN Based Bypass

The LODA-8DN valve has been used for many years in Milnor Single Stage Presses. Typically found in multi-manifold and early single manifold presses, this bypass is composed of three components the LODA-8DN, DTAF-MHN, and a coil.

Component List

  • 96RH713A01 - LODA-8DN Logic Cartridge
  • 96RH713A02 - replaced by the 96RH713A04
  • 96RH713A04 - DTAF-MHN Pilot Cartridge
  • 96RH713R04 - 24VDC Coil
  • 96RH713R05 - 120VAC Coil

Installation

First, install the 96RH713A01 into the manifold and torque to 30-35 lbf ft. Next, install the 96RH713A04 into the first cartridge and torque to 20-25 lbf ft. Finally, install the coil and plug.

MP1A50 Presses

On the MP1A50 presses the bypass valve is a 96RH713A01 and A02.  There is an option for replacement with a more simplistic 2-way valve. The original LODA valve is a logic cartridge and demonstrated some reluctance to pilot closed. The new valve is simply an on off valve, but it does not fit in the manifold block in place of the LODA valve.

The conversion requires a port plug and a remote mounted valve, hose and bracket.  The replacement parts are in part number AHT10074.

Remove the valve at port LE1 and plug with the port plug provided in the kit.
You will make a connection at port T3 and also at the tank return port at the tank.
